Announcements

Dear Salem Little Saints Parents and Staff,

On behalf of the entire Salem Lutheran Church congregation, we express our deep sadness over the closure of Salem Little Saints. We understand how difficult this transition is for your families and the stress of finding new care for your children. Please know that our hearts are with you, and our prayers continue for each of you during this time. We are especially praying for your children to find loving and nurturing caretakers, as it has been our honor and joy to host them at Salem over the years.

We also recognize how significant this loss is for our broader community. The need for quality childcare is excellent, and the closing of Salem Little Saints will be deeply felt. We trust that God will provide for your families and surround you with the same love and care that He has so faithfully provided through this ministry.

Our congregation met on Sunday, October 5th, to reflect and pray over this situation. We want to acknowledge that the closure is a shared responsibility between Salem Lutheran Church and Salem Little Saints. As is often the case with such difficult decisions, there are many contributing factors, not a single cause.

We would also like to offer some clarity regarding recent discussions in the community.

  • Our building is quite old, and while we have worked faithfully to maintain it, our small and aging congregation faces increasing financial and physical challenges.

  • Over the past 20 years, Salem Lutheran Church has been a committed supporter of the daycare. Many individuals and families in our congregation gave generously out of love for the ministry and its mission. The church budget often reflected this commitment, covering expenses when funds were insufficient. We remain proud of the care, stewardship, and service that Salem Little Saints has provided to so many families.

In closing, we extend our heartfelt prayers to all families and staff affected by this closure. We pray that God blesses each of you with peace, provision, and new opportunities. We also ask for prayers for our congregation as we, too, navigate this difficult chapter.

We are all God’s children, and we trust in His promise to bring hope and renewal even in times of this transition.

May the Lord bless you and keep you,
 and give you peace.

With faith and compassion,
Salem Lutheran Church
